In fear and trembling at starting a meta-discussion concerning the
components of aesthetic merit on the PDML, why?

I mean, OK, it's not in focus, the background is mostly black (at least
given this rendering), but the flower does have a stem, and that's the
green bit.  Just because it *could* be a skulking triffid does not
obviously imply to me that it shouldn't be there.

So what am I missing?
