Thank you everyone for your input; there is/was also one other issue (it is yet to be seen whether or not fw update 1.0 to 1.02 fixed it) - the mode dial would sometimes/often produce randomly wrong results, i.e. you could turn it to mode x and it would set the camera to mode z with no apparent pattern - does that ring a bell with anyone
