hi, this is a question to those who have bought/used the k-x. would you know whether the kit lens that comes with the camera is the old kit lens or the newer 'mark II' lens? i know it's the L version which means it has a plastic mount. TIA...
I don't have a K-X kit lens in hand, but I do have the version which came with the K-m, and it's the same lens. It is reported to be optically identical to the Mark II. However, note that in addition to having a plastic lens mount it does not have QuickShift focusing and lacks a distance scale on the barrel, and does not come with a hood (another $20 from B&H...). It looks and feels cheaper than the regular Mark II version, but it works just fine.
