I'm afraid to say that technology marches on and it passed the 1DmII a while ago. I know a number of people who are upgrading from 1DmII's to the 7D as it's a distinctly better performer at high ISO, has marginally better AF, a much better battery system and delivers significantly more resolution. The 1DmII offers better build, 1.5 extra fps and a somewhat larger buffer (offset b the 7D's much faster write speedwith UDMA cards). The 7D of course also has Live View, HD video and can control off-camera flashes with its pop-up flash. -- M.
