But they were fantastically strong. I'm very interested in the 14th century for some unknown reason and despite the terrible living conditions (by our standards) of all ranks of society, and the unhealthy lives they all lived, the men had to be incredibly strong and tough, taking on major responsibilities at a very young age. Most of them were dead before they were 45 though.
