Hi all, There's been a long list of interesting posts on all things photographic (and otherwise) that folks have learned from the PDML. I thought that since we've gone through the "what lenses do you have" and "what lenses do you want" threads, maybe we should do likewise with "what have you learned here". With that in mind, I'll pose the question to you all:
"What would you ~like~ to learn here?" I'll start. There are actually three things I can think of, off the top of my head, that I'd like to learn. In no particular order: (1) Learn the technique of approaching complete strangers and get them to consent to my photographing them. Shel seems to be particularly good at this. I seem to have trouble getting some ~acquaintances~ to consent! Maybe I need an unassuming little Leica? ;-) But see Item (2) below.... (2) Learn to spend less time buying equipment, or thinking about buying equipment, or looking at equipment I can't afford, and start spending more time exposing film. (3) Learn how the devil to loosen the center of one of those Patterson reels I have, so I can change it from 35-mm size to 120 size. Looks almost like there should be some special tool to do that, but maybe there's just a hidden catch that I need to depress. I was thinking about maybe running a roll of Tri-X through that old Agfa in the closet, and I know those reels are supposed to be adjustable. How 'bout you all?
