This is ioncorrect on two counts. Firstly there is a LOT of 64-bit
windows software out there, things have changed significantly since
XP64 was current, the move to 4GB as the base RAM spec on serious
machines moved the default OS on mid/high-end machines to Vista 64 a
while ago and a lot of apps have moved to 64-bit native (heck, I'm
running 64-bit iTunes on my Vista64 machine). Plus most 32-bit
software installs and runs just fine under Vista64 or Win7-64, XP64
was awful for app compatibility. Secondly any memory hungry 32-bt app
will see performance gains under 64bit OS's with sufficient RAM as the
app can then use 100% of the RAM available to it rather than being
limited by having to share address space with the OS and any other
running applications. This occurs on 4GB and higher configurations and
can boost PS performance noticably even if running 32 bit PS.
