Sorry for the late reply. Been actually busy at work ... I still
have time for the PDML though.

I have a Sekonic Studio Deluxe L-398 which is the predecessor of the
curent L-398M Studio Deluxe II. I bought this meter used in, I believe
1985. It has traveled with me throughout the years and through many
countries. I can attest to its durability - just ask the people who have
seen my first LX ;-)

It uses a Selenium cell and does not require batteries, I find this
appealing. I actually have an old Weston model 650 that I purchased because
it looked interesting and have not really used. I need to check it out too
I guess. I have not used the Sekonic it enough as I probably should have,
but I mainly shoot with an LX or two ;-) With the recent thread on metering
I have decided to use it more. I have compared it to the LX meters and have
verified it matches in in controlled situations.

It can be used for both incident and reflected measurements. I
guess the only two things it lacks is spot metering and flash metering. I
would recommend it for a novice, which I am.
