Nothing extraordinary about in in the sense that it's what you did as a consequence of calling an election; this session of parliament is done, everyone go back to their ridings, there will be a new parliament after the election. I suspect part of the motivation is that if Parliament is in session, MPs can show up and vote on stuff.
