Excellent set, frank. You could be like a photojournalist or something :-)
"Like a photojournalist" - except I don't get paid or anything.
;-)
Funny thing was, I saw lots of PJ types, all with big honking zooms.
They stood at the fringes and snapped away. Didn't see a single one
of them wading through the crowd as I was. Saw some interesting shots
in the papers the next day, but they were a bit more - um - detached
than mine ended up being.
Every shot that day I took with my trusty old Vivitar f3.8 19mm. It
is not a particularly sharp lens, and not very contrasty but I thought
those technical shortcomings were more than made up for by the
intimacy of the shots I was able to obtain by getting right in there
and mixing it up with the marchers.
Plus, the fact I didn't have a great long white lens on my massive
DSLR made me look very "un-PJ" and hence not so intimidating.
Thanks to everyone for the comments and thanks to all who looked.
cheers,
frank
I've worked as a Photojournalist, and sometimes even though you're
employed you don't seem to get paid.
