Actually, I quite like using stop-down metering on the G1. I get actual DoF when I focus and the metering remains reasonably accurate. I rarely miss auto-aperture when using an EVIL camera, you don't have many of the limitations that more traditional designs have with stop-down metering. Interestingly, both of my most-used cameras right now are using stop-down metering, the G1 with adapted lenses and my Bessa R. -- M.
