Hi Tanja - I wouldn't go near a Sony Vaio, a friend of mine had one which was
absolutely terrible to work with, and unreliable.
I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro S300 for A$1300 with which I am very
satisfied. I installed Elements on it and have used it for processing images
quite happily. Vista Business, Intel Core2Duo P8400 chip @ 2.26GHz, 2GB RAM,
150GB Hitachi HDD. That may look under-spec'd by comparison with your latest
option, but it works very well, and might be worth looking at something similar.
If you want to, pop down and have a look...

Subject: laptops again...

What do you guys think of this? I have seen the stats about Sony vs Asus, vs
HP vs Dell, etc and it seems to come out near the top wrt stability and overall
failures, so thought that this new model Vaio looks pretty good, AND I can
afford it too, which is always nice!

Thoughts and advice?

Tan. ?
