Not enough, more likely. I take it that the hub is powered separately from the computer? If so, it sounds as if you have a decidedly low-quality motherboard or, possibly, one with a fault. In either case, it is not fit for purpose and should be returned.



No, the hub is unpowered and just plugs directly in to one of the ports
on the motherboard.

Sounds like more of an operating system problem, in that case. You'll have to phone Bill.
