You'll probably get some wonky shadow gradation with the wrong black. However, 
there are icc profiles for some matte papers that enable photo black ink. I 
generally run photo black for my Ilford Silk Fibre and Epson Exhibition Fibre. 
Today, I had to print on double-sided matte, which normally calls for black 
matte ink. However, Epson has a profile for using the photo black ink. It's 
identified by a "pk" designation at the end of the profile name.
