I held my K20D and K-x side by side at 1/125 sec and fired both a whole bunch of times. The K-x has a higher sound, but the sound seemed about the same decibel level. Certainly not a marked difference between them. Because the FPS is faster on the K-x, it is noticeable that it finishes quicker than the K20D.
So I'd say if you are concerned about the K-x being louder than the K20D, that is not a concern. If you are hoping the K-x will be more stealthy than the K20D, I would say not really. I can tell you the handling of the K-x really grows on you. Kind of small and quick.
