Ahhhh, Jacquard! That was the name I was trying to remember. The worst part about it is that I studied it in Textiles classes in addition to learning about the connection to punch cards in CompSci classes, and still couldn't remember.
In his honour, and to make up for your lapse in memory, you should eat some Cervelle de Canut this weekend. Very enjoyable.
