The second-generation version (f/2.8 to 3.5, introduced 1984) was made by
Komine Ltd. of Japan.

Komine also made the third-generation version, introduced 1986 (f/2.8 to
4.0). It takes a 58mm filter and has 14 elements in 11 groups. Weight is 24
ounces, like the Pentax 70-210/4 PKA. It and the 2/8 to 3.5 were available
in PKA mount.

In an earlier posting I praised the Tamron SP Macro 70-210 f3.5. I
neglected to mention in its name that it is a macro (constant 1:2.6). It's
a push-pull one-touch; it weighs 30 ounces (860 g), uses a 62mm filter, has
15 elements in 11 groups, and has 7 blades in its diaphragm.
