I used them to scan hundreds of slides.  I have never manually scanned
any slides, so I don't have any way to compare the results.  Here is a
gallery of some of the scans:

Pro:
One great thing about scancafe is the ability to only pick and pay for
1/2 of the images that they scan.
To spell it out clearly, you can send them 1000 slides and then only
have to pay for your favorite 500.

Pro:
They offer a service of retouching your damaged image(s).  If I recall
correctly, I think it cost a dollar or 2 for this touchup.   Here are

Con:
