I used them to scan hundreds of slides. I have never manually scanned any slides, so I don't have any way to compare the results. Here is a gallery of some of the scans: (my smugmug site) ... http://tinyurl.com/ycpdsza Pro: One great thing about scancafe is the ability to only pick and pay for 1/2 of the images that they scan. To spell it out clearly, you can send them 1000 slides and then only have to pay for your favorite 500. Pro: They offer a service of retouching your damaged image(s). If I recall correctly, I think it cost a dollar or 2 for this touchup. Here are 3 of the same picture retouched: 1. the diry original http://tinyurl.com/yzlqyjl 2. the small preview of the retouch http://tinyurl.com/yka95yt 3. the full size final http://tinyurl.com/ybs27n3 Con: Their website for browsing and picking your scans was mildly slow and annoying. --------------------------- Sam -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
