I have one too. To be honest I haven't used it in quite a while :(
I have the old K 400/5.6 PK, a MF Tokina SD 400/5.6 PK-A, and a Sigma APO 400/5.6 Macro PK-AF. I haven't used the manual focus lenses in a long time, and Corey or someone has one of them, I think, on loan. And I've never used the MF lenses on digital. I use the Sigma a lot, formerly on film and now on digital, on the *ist D and K-20. I haven't noticed any particular fringing on it. Maybe the APO part mitigates the fringing.
The FA 200/2.8 is my long lens of choice at the moment.
I've only had a dozen or two total lenses in my life, so I'm not much of an aficionado. That said, the FA 200/2.8 is my absolute favorite, and another lens would have a tough job to replace it at the top of my opinion. Don't /ever/ use it for portraiture, though, as it's sharp enough to shave with. :-)
