on the thistle/knapweed i like the form, but would like to see a different (still blurry) background, perhaps dozens more of the same plant in various states of unfocus, or something of a more interesting color/shape; a close-up on the top umbel might be interesting too
on the cattail, i feel a desire for the composition to emphasize the relations among the elements more -- the fuzz with the light bokeh, the curves echoing or contrasting more ...
