Geez - I read this as "rock" as in "igneous, sedementary or

Just chalk it up to experience.

Ore not.

If you're jaded enough.
Agate what you mean though. Even though I didn't grow up on a Finnish
cattle farm, I did grow up in the lapidary hobby, so I'm not too 'opal
that this thread will leave any tern unstoned.
I schist you not when I say my Dad had a column in Rock & Gem for 20
years (The Frantic Fumbler), which he'd pepper with stupid puns on the
topic so it won't take a tiger's eye to see that I might have a few on
tap, even without taking a cab. You might say it's an intrinsic facet of
my personality by now to wind down this serpentine path.

Talus all about it, why don't you?

You should be able to take it for granite that I haven't lost all of my marbles on this topic. Though it's not hard to realize that some of mine are moh better than others, they'll all rockwell. Despite it being a bit of a grind, I do try to put a polish on at least a few of them.

Aa, I can hammer away at these, too. We should sift throught them , put
them in a gneiss book of mica, or etch them on a slab and wolframite.... etc
_ I could go on.... (I actually wrote a mineral field guide in the 70's and did honors work in sedimentolgy in college - I never got the guide published - as these things happen - long story, mainly laziness.... but I had fun reseraching it. Good ole Dana.

Rockhounded a while back then, mainly in well MAINE and NH. ) No longer.
but I did produce this rock related item ... all the minerals are from my collection except the lapis...
