Boris,
You are correct, the AF sensor is upstream from the viewfinder so is
not affected by the screen, but it is affected by the mirror because
the AF unit is under the mirror while the VF screen is above it. My
K10D is correctly calibrated for AF, but back-focuses with manual
focus. If I had a screen with shimmies I could probably move the
screen down to the appropriate position so manual and auto focus were
in sync.
Ideally I would also want easy access to the screw(s) that adjusts the
mirror angle so I could readjust it once if goes out of sync due to
use.
Are you planning on messing around with shimmies to get your KatzEye
adjusted, Boris?
