i have been reading _The Day Books of Edward Westin, Vol. II_ and am at the point in it where he has lived in Carmel for several months; the book might seem slow to some, but i find it really fascinating his introspection and descriptions of process (much of his photography done with what he called his "$5 lens"), as well as his descriptions of those with whom he socialized and philandered
