Recently someone asked about a Cosina 55/1.2K lens. Figuring (wrongly) that he had spotted the specimen on EBay, I felt obliged to inform him that there happened to be twenty new specimens for sale at two online retailers; he needn't feel compelled to buy this one or lose it forever.
On the other hand, there are times I keep my mouth shut even though I feel that I'm failing my "duty to warn." At the same time that I bought my Pentax SMC 500/4.5 in M42 for $223 (BIN), a pre-SMC version was being offered. It finally sold for $512! It was all I could do to not tell the bidders where they could find K mount specimens in LN condition for $600 and $800. I would like to tell them now, but I think that's against EBay's rules.
