I don't recall the Tunnel Diner.  Was it by one of the tunnels to NYC?
 which one?

I did see the Bader book, several years ago.  It made a big impression
on me.  I think I should see if I can find a copy to purchase, but
perhaps I should wait until I have put together my little group of
images of local diners;  otherwise, I will either be tempted to
imitate his work, or become so depressed at the impossibility of
coming anywhere close to it that I will just give up.

As I said before, my ambitions are very limited, and and I am not
aiming at something of the level of Bader's book or your fine
collection of images.
