Charles (if memory serves) has won several GFM prizes and honourable mentions for his flower shots. He carries around a spray bottle of glycerin (to simulate raindrops) and several velvet and other cloth backdrops to isolate flowers in nature from backgrounds. IIRC there have been complaints about his methods (by losers, methinks) but he's well within the rules of the competition. And he's a hell of a good photograpther! BTW, Dave, I think that "bad weather makes good photographs" was uttered by someone before Charles. For certain the late Mr. Morton said it... cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
