Karin, son Pete and I met up with Bob W on Sunday in Greenwich. We had lunch
(the beer list is still intact) and since it was a lovely day we decided to
walk along the Thames out towards the Thames Barrier.

Bob remembered that I'd shown him my father's gold wristwatch (which I wear
every day) with an inscription on the back celebrating 40 years service with
Wm Cory and Son where my dad worked in the accounts department of the barge
works in the 50s and 60s.

Bob said that he thought the works were still there - and 3 or 4 miles
later, there they were - just as I remember from the occasions when I'd go
with my dad when he worked on Saturdays. Here's the sign on the wall of the
offices - obviously from that era and still there. Brought a bit of a lump
to my throat it did...
