I don't have the technical details nailed down yet, especially with incorporating flash, but I think I'm still getting some fun shots.

I'm impressed, Larry. These are really intriguing, and in LRC52581 in particular, very dramatic and eye-catching.

I'd like to suggest you try getting a few narrow focus LED flashlights and experiment with illuminating the subjects hands and/ or feet. You might have to gel the LEDs to reduce the light to not overwhelm.

That's a good idea. One goal with the flash is that no matter what, it'll freeze the motion of the subject. I've used it before to good effect, though that may have been a manual flash rather than using this one on pttl.

The effect works best (for me) when the props outline a clearly human form, as in LRC52581. I think some more rope, ribbon, what- have-you to add to the outline, especially at joints and extremities, would add to the effectiveness. Easy for me to say! :-)

I'll keep that in mind. The technique seems pretty popular and even if I'm not coming up with more ideas on it, I expect other models will ask for it.

BTW, do you use more than one black-light source?

Yeah, I've got a bunch of compact fluorescent black light bulbs. Two over head and 3 on each side.

The whole effect reminds me greatly of the fantastic visuals in Tron, one of my favourite movies.

I'm certain that this will lead to thread drift, but I'm pretty sure that the Tron sequel is coming out fairly soon.

Cheers!
