Larry, I'd like to offer a modification of your statement below. Once card outpaces the camera you'd know: 1. You're using your h/w to the fullest extent possible 2. You're not going to buy faster cards as you *know* what you need.
Thus, I think it makes sense to try to find a card that outpaces your camera, but only just.
