I don't remember what sort of bird they were. The aquarium has a little corner with these and a couple other types inside. They sell nectar for you to fed the birds for $1 and rent you a poncho for protection for $2. (!)
I was the only one of our group to be anointed.

Great shot.  You've caught the bird's preening pose really well.

Do they have exotic birds at Newport Aquarium, because that looks like
an Australian Rainbow Lorikeet.  Here's a very poor shot of several
enjoying a bath in our backyard.
