Touche, I believe, is a direct french import - the "e" should really be 
accented with an acute - looks like half a "/" above the letter - the "e" has 
an "ay" sound. Is it a fencing term ? - announced when you score a point 
against your opponent? 
 Well, some of our idioms travel, and some don't.
