Thanks so much Miserere!! I think you might be pushing it a bit to make the
2 year deadline, but you never know! Stranger things have happened! Winning
people's confidence is probably my main priority, as this
will give me the credibility that I need to approach the big names.
Anyways, you *are* already famous - you have a very successful blog that
many people follow! :)

I just realised too (and I can hardly believe that I did this!), that I
completely forgot to mention the motivation behind Great Expectations and
why I have named it such!

Let's just say that I had a less than Brady Bunch upbringing and to this
day, have issues because of it. It also instilled in me a fervent passion
toward preventing child abuse and neglect. I am half way through
a degree in Human Services right now with the goal of becoming a Child
Protection Officer when all of my kids have flown the coop and my arms are
to weak to hold a camera to my face (!). Anyways, I have
learned in my studies a quotation that I am reminded of at least once a day:
"“80% of all child abuse and neglect cases are a direct result of parents
having unreasonable expectations of their children”

That quote just hits me right in the heart. Anyways, sob story aside, I
reeeeeally want to do something to teach people about this. I am convinced
that if people could somehow adopt that quote as their own
personal mantra, they would be reminded of what to expect from their kids
and so much abuse and neglect would be avoided. If I succeed in getting
this book completed and published, I am going to be donating
every cent of the profits to the Abused Child Trust, an organisation that I
have done in depth case studies on through-out my degree, and one that, I
believe, truly has the kids as their primary focus.

Ok, so with all of this in mind - it is the motivation behind my book, and
also, of course, the name "Great Expectations".

I know that to some of you this whole thing will seem like a naïve, romantic
pipe dream, but determination is something that I have no shortage of, so
watch this space for in 2 years time, you will be eating your words!

(well, at least I HOPE so!) Lol.

....and having a sponsor such as Pentax behind me would certainly add to my
credibility when approaching the celebs and their agents, I reckon!

t.x.

Tanya,

I have no idea how to get Pentax's attention, but e-mailing the US HQ
doesn't seem to work. Not from my address, at least. Maybe Aussie Pentax is
more receptive...or maybe you are more persistent than me
:-)

As for your big project, it seems I have 2 years to become famous and have
kids. You've already won my confidence, so that's 1 out of 3 requirements
already met ;-)
