I had a very enjoyable day today, nipped over to Oxford with an Ethiopian friend to call on a photojournalist friend who lives there and we went to a private viewing at the Pitt-Rivers museum of an exhibition by Peter Marlow, president of Magnum, of photos he took at the (re)burial of the emperor Haile Selassie:

I did meet Peter Marlow briefly at the exhibition, but I don't think he could figure out why I was there - he kept looking slightly quizically at me, I thought. Maybe it was also because I keep breaking out in some sort of allergic rash (pollen I think). But he seems like a very nice chap.
