I haven't shot film in well over a year, but I've done that :-)
But it cuts both ways, and when I'd take a picture of somebody they
would ask to see it and I would turn the camera towards them to let
them see...and they'd wait maybe a couple of seconds for the image to
come up. Most of the time they'd figure out it was a film camera and
laugh, but every now and again they'd tell me my LCD was broken.
