Back in the early seventies, one of my aunts lived in Ft. Lauderdale. During a visit, we took a guided tour of the Intracoastal Waterway in the area, including some of the "show homes" along the water. One of the houses was on a spit of land with water around three sides of it. The tour guide told the story of the couple who had the house built. The husband spent millions to have all these huge windows with awesome views, and the wife spent the best part of another million on curtains to cover them.
