Never seen one of those, but I can tell you about the name: Once upon a time, not so many years ago, there were a number of competing high street chains. One was City Camera Exchange - owner one Ken McKinnon. Ken dearly wanted the punters to carry his name close to them. Hence the Makinon brand.
