Untrue, David. Take apart a Pentax K10D shutter/mirror/iris actuation assembly sometime and you'll see how it's put together. It's not servos ... it's springs and levers. As are virtually all SLR shutter assemblies.
My friend at the local camera repair shop has them apart on the bench all the time. I haven't seen one yet with servo actuation setup to mirror, shutter and iris actuator.
