On the other part of your message... It is pretty interesting thought, that did not occur to me before I read your message. Consider this. Music can either accompany pictures (pictures are primary, music is secondary) or pictures can illustrate music (music is primary, pictures are secondary). I tried to go for the first, but you say that music (in your specific case, of course) detracts from the pictures... Fascinating...
