Hi!
I'm thinking of two things that I might want to do next with my gear
cabinet.
1. Galia seems to have a liking of shooting small things. I seem to have
a liking of making her use 50 mm lens, to which she does not really
protest. Adding these two, I am thinking of buying a 50 mm macro lens
for her. The alternatives are FA 50/2.8 and DFA 50/2.8. Except price,
weight and build differences - is there any sense to prefer one to
another? I am leaning towards FA variety, but I am open to opinions.
2. Call me a snob, but I want to replace my Tamron 28-75/2.8 with Pentax
FA* 28-70/2.8. A number of issues here. They seem to be on sale on
eekbay for a bit over USD 1k.
Would anyone from USA agree to buy one for me, test it properly and then
send it along? I realize it is a lot of hassle should the specific
sample proves suboptimal, so that feel free to keep your silence. If you
decide to talk - let it be off list.
Another issue is mechanical longevity. Tamron's made is said to be more
towards the consumer grade - plastic and such. What about Pentax? What
are the chances that buying one, I'd end up with pile of mechanical issues?
And finally, if any one from the list want to enable be with any of the
above, I would gladly consider the offer. It is because, obviously,
dealing with PDML is much more reliable and pleasant than eekbay adventures.
Thanks in advance.
Boris
P.S. Immediately or even along with going about FA* 28-70/2.8 I will be
selling my Tamron 28-75/2.8... So you have an opportunity here as well.
