It turns out that this is my second exposure to the concrete cows. The first one was in my friend Charlie's book "The Atrocity Archives", where they play a very minor part, and sure enough, they're the same cows mentioned in "The concrete jungle". By the way, I highly recommend not only the Atrocity Archives, but his whole "Bob Howard/laundryverse" series. It's hard to explain, but it's sort of like modern computer geek meets Cthulu.
