Larry, I have a 16gb Transcend and 2 - 8gb Patriot cards that I swap back and forth all the time between the K20D and th K-x. I format them in camera and normally use the built in card reader on my HP laptop or a Gateway desktop. I have been doing this at a high frequency without nary a hiccup. One wonders about your card reader.
