G'day all I came across this utility on the Digital Photography School's website.
Basically The Photographer's Ephemeris overlays sunrise/sunset/moonrise/moonset directions over a Google Maps base, but it can also show the direction of the sun and moon at any time of day. It has other features that I'm yet to explore (such as finding when the sun/moon will appear from behind a hill) but, at the very least, it seems a useful utility to have on hand when planning a day's photography. Here's the link to the DPS article: http://tinyurl.com/29dnpby And here's the author's website for downloading: http://photoephemeris.com/ The application is free and requires Adobe Air (there's also a paid version for iPhone).
