Now that I can select by focal length in LR, it's fun to see the distribution for my 16-50.
Clearly the most-popular is "as wide as possible" followed by "full zoom" but
after that it seems to be an even distribution...

i was curious what it would take to do this in Aperture; i have Aperture 2 for now, which is scriptable, so i wrote a short AppleScript to create a histogram in the form of a list of numbers, then pasted the result into a spreadsheet to create a chart; the result was fairly predictable (to me) ...

... i've been shooting a ton of macro shots at 45mm with my 16-45 to document my garden, and i shoot macro a lot anyway, but if it weren't for the garden project i think 16 would dominate; the 50 column is a bit of a fluke since i pushed myself to use my M 50/1.4 a lot on a trip in April (if i broke it out by date that would probably make this more clear)

if anyone wants the AppleScript let me know; with luck it'll work in Aperture 3
