Well, it was a charity auction to which I donated the print, so not making any money myself is OK.
Background: My S.O. Dr. Lisa and I are cycling in the Pan-Mass Challenge, a 180-mile bicycle ride (2 days) that raises money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Center, in a team with several of her co-workers from the hospital. Each member of the team is supposed to raise about $4200 in donations. A few weeks ago the Pathology Department chairman (he and his wife are on the team) put on a wine-tasting party and silent auction to raise money for the team. For the auction Lisa and I contributed a framed 12 x 18 print of one of my fungus photos (see the image at http://www.robertstech.com/pages/fungus02.htm) and a framed triptych of three of my Loire Valley shots (the three shots on the fourth row of this page: http://www.robertstech.com/loire.htm) The party was great fun and much less posh than I expected :) Though I preferred the Loire triptych, the fungus print ended up being the biggest money-getter of the evening: $1100.00! BTW: If any PDML'ers would care to contribute anything to my ride, my official ride page is at http://www.pmc.org/profile/MR0239 Five or ten bucks is fine. You needn't feel obliged to donate $1100.00 ;-) -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
