A couple of interesting stories for the PDML Bike SIG: Jon Snow, a well-known TV news anchorman who made his name reporting the Vietnam war, is also the president of the CTC (Cyclists' Touring Club, oldest cycling org in the world). He's had his bike stolen (again!) from outside his office. So it can happen to anyone. He's offering a £1,000 reward for its return. It's a hand-built titanium Condor. <http://www.channel4.com/news/articles/uk/wheelie+bad+jon+snow8217s+bike+sto len++again/3709197>
What is perhaps more interesting and useful for us mortals is a site called <http://bikeshd.co.uk/> which is an aggregator of Bike For Sale notices posted on Gumtree and eBay - a useful place to look if your own bike is nicked. Also, 13th July was the anniversary of the death, from an excess of special go-faster cycling sherbet, of British rider Tom Simpson in 1967's Tour de France. There's a World Service radio programme about it on iPlayer <http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p008hffq/Witness_Tragedy_on_the_Tour_d e_France/> Cheers, Norman Tebbit's Dad. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
