That's true. It's easy to move it back to the Applications folder by dragging and dropping too, once you find it.
You can prevent this from happening by not working while logged in on an administrator account. I have an administrator account that I use to configure the system, install and de-install software packages, etc. My work is done in a user account, which has no privileges to write into the applications and other system-only locations.
