Something you folks may find amusing. I was chatting with a friend at the dojo today. He recently bought an image stabilized Sigma 50-500 for his Canon 7D, but returned it because he didn't want to pay $1600 for a lens where the pictures weren't perfectly sharp. He also mused that his sensor may have contributed to it, since it isn't full frame. Later in the conversation it turned out that he was shooting with the lens hand held.
