Agree fully. I used the A850 and the A900 for a while, and they are
wonderful in almost all respects. The high-ISO performance is just so-so
though, well beyond that of the Canon 5D MkII which I had in use for
comparison. On the other hand, the A850/900 are designed and built better
than the 5D MkII. At the end, the problem for Sony is not making excellent
high-end cameras, it's selling them...
but their low-end stuff is absolute garbage at inflated prices. Even their
mid-range bodies, which aren't bad, are
massively overpriced.
Again, I agree. I used the A550 and the image results are excellent, while
the build is pure garbage compared to the K-x or K-m.
The viewfinder is so tiny and dark that a friend of mine tried to remove the
cap from the lens after a first look through the eyepiece indoor. Except
there was no cap! I'm not kidding here, it happened and I still laugh at my
friend for that.
