(Inquiring minds want to know.) ~I~ certainly hope that your pessimistic statement is wrong - ~I~ (and many others here on the PDML) have a sizeable investment in Pentax glass that I/we have been expecting to be able to eventually put to use on a full-frame 35mm format dSLR.
