What they primarily get used for is macro work, it's really hard to
beat a high-end LF macro lens on a monorail for quality and control
and when coupled with a LV-capable DSLR you have a much more capable
setup than a macro bellows offers.

I got the impression this was mainly for people who already have the
Sinar System. Sinar has a digital back available, but it's expensive.
This is a lower cost solution for people who already have Nikon/Canon
digital.
It's digital Polaroids.
